Canvas allows you to easily dial a patient's phone number with just one click. The click to dial feature can be found next to the patient's name in the patient chart, registration view, claim's view, and from an appointment card in the Schedule View. 

Click to Dial Settings

  • Click on the triple line menu in the Schedule view to open up Settings

  • Locate and select Config under the Constance section

  • Locate the Dialing Service setting

  • Enter the name of the phone number software e.g. Zoom in the DIALING_LABEL field

  • Enter the url that will be used to dial the phone number in the DIALING_URL_TEMPLATE field

    • The URL will vary depending on the service used. For example, for Zoom phone licenses the URL is zoomphonecall://{number} 

  • Select Save to update the settings

NOTE: Selecting Reset to default will clear entries.

Click to Dial in the Schedule View

  • Ensure the above steps have been completed

  • Navigate to the schedule create an appointment

  • Select a patient name

  • Locate and select the phone icon next to the patient name

  • Select Dial number with *** (Dialing Label will appear here)

    • Phone number link will open in a new tab and keep the current tab active

Click to Dial in the Patient Chart/Registration Page/Claim's View

  • Ensure the above steps have been completed

  • Navigate to a patient's chart/Registration View/Claim's View

  • Locate and select the phone icon next to the patient name

  • Select Dial number with *** (Dialing Label will appear here)

    • Phone number link will open in a new tab and keep the current tab active
