Effective vaccine inventory management is essential for ensuring availability, reducing waste, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Canvas simplifies this process with an integrated inventory system that allows providers to track stock levels, monitor expiration dates, and document administration in real time.
Documenting Vaccines and Vaccine Lots
There are two admin pages to be aware of for this workflow --- our vaccine and vaccine lots setting pages.

Vaccines
Vaccines will populate under the immunization command
Vaccines are managed under Quality & Revenue: Vaccines in Settings. Click
ADD VACCINE +to add to inventory
Complete fields. Bolded fields are required
Charges: Associate a CPT charge code
If the code is not found, then add the code to the practice's Fee Schedule.
TIP: Hold down Ctrl for Windows or Command for Mac to select more than one charge.
Payer: Designate vaccine for a specific payer. Example: Medicaid

Route: Method the vaccine is administered into the body

Units: Defaults to 1

Saveor scroll down to Vaccine Lot to add the additional information
Vaccine Lot
Within this same admin page you can document lots or you can go directly to the vaccine lots admin page to do the same.
Adding Vaccine Lots from Vaccines Settings
Add Vaccine lots from Vaccines setting by clicking
+ Add another Vaccine LotComplete fields. Required fields will be bolded

Adding Vaccine Lots via Vaccine Lots Settings
Vaccine lots can also be managed under Quality & Revenue: Vaccine Lots. If a new lot is needed,
ADD VACCINE LOT +Process will be completed the same as above.
Once you save you will also see the On hand inventory: field populate with the total number of available vaccines

Administer Vaccines
Vaccines are administered using the vaccine command 📄 Command | Immunize.
The Immunize command will only populate immunizations that have been registered within the vaccine inventory of the clinic
