Providing patient educational material related to medications, conditions and diseases allows providers to clearly communicate vital information to their patients at the time of care. Canvas integrates with Healthwise for patient education using the Educational Material command.
The patient's sex must be defined in order for information to populate within the Educational Material Command.
Healthwise offers some educational material in Spanish. If you set the preferred language for a patient in the registration page educational material will default to Spanish in the command.
Currently educational material can only be provided to patients via a physical print out or PDF outside of Canvas.
Healthwise provides over 10,000 educational material articles that are reviewed and updated quarterly.
These articles can be browsed using the following link: https://www.healthwise.net/canvasmedical
Of note, not all content hosted on this site can be accessed via the Educational Material Command. For specific questions, please contact the Canvas Support team.
