The Perform command enables healthcare providers to document and bill for procedures completed in the office. This command streamlines the process of recording in-office procedures while ensuring proper billing and documentation protocols are followed.
User's Guide
Using the Perform Command
Add the Perform command to a new or existing note in the patient chart
Add the performed procedure in the command heading
Document any procedure details in the Notes field
Click PERFORM to commit the command
The associated CPT code will drop to the billing footer
Free text is available for procedures not in your fee schedule, but may adversely affect billing and quality protocols

Adding Procedures to the Perform Command
Items will display in the perform command dropdown based on what is listed in the fee schedule.
Follow the Fee Schedule help center article to add any missing procedures.
FAQ & Troubleshooting
Q: What happens if I use free text instead of a procedure from the fee schedule?
A: Free text entries may adversely affect billing and quality protocols. It's recommended to use procedures from your fee schedule whenever possible.
Q: Can I edit a procedure after I've committed the Perform command?
A: The perform command cannot be edited. It will need to be entered in error and the command will need to be recreated with changes.
Q: What information should I include in the notes field?
A: Include all procedure-related details such as location, medical indications or a comprehensive description of the procedure performed.
